Despite the added capability, it remains economical to operate, burning approximately 23 to 24 gallons per hour of Jet A, which is typically the more affordable fuel option in Alaska. Because it moves more passengers and gear at higher speeds while burning a cheaper fuel, many missions are competitively priced with the R44 while offering greater overall efficiency.

 

The baggage compartment is a significant advantage. Located aft of the rear right seat, it measures approximately 24 inches high by 33 inches wide by 40 inches deep and accommodates up to 300 pounds.
